The line between Granada and Guadix was originally part of The GSSR's concession but was passed on to The South of Spain Railway Co. Ltd. when Hett, Maylor declared bankruptcy. However, much of the line was built before the bankruptcy and this is reflected in some of the design and the hardware.
This section of the line is still in use with trains from Almería to Granada via Guadix.
